Alexandra Silva

Feminist activist and researcher in the field of women’s human rights and violence against women and equality between women and men. She has a degree in sociology and a post-graduation on Women’s Studies.

She is project coordinator in the area of feminism and violence against women at the Portuguese Platform for Women’s Rights (PpDM). She was co-founder and is currently Vice-President of EOS – Association of Studies, Cooperation and Development. She is board member of the Association of Women Against Violence. She is a member of the Observatory of the European Women’s Lobby on violence against women, representing PpDM.

She was co-founder and leader of the Portuguese Youth Network for Equality between Women and Men. She has been a member of research teams in European and national projects, notably at CESIS – Centre for Studies for Social Intervention (2002-2016), and she has co-authored several European and national research publications and reports.
