Maria João Faustino

Project manager in the project “Delete it – diagnosing, raising awareness, and preventing image-based sexual violence against young women” at the Portuguese Youth Network for Equality between Women and Men.

She is a member of the Women without Borders Association and representative of the Portuguese Platform for Women’s Rights in the working group on sexual and reproductive rights and sexual exploitation at the European Women’s Lobby.

She is a PhD student in Psychology at the University of Auckland. Her doctoral research focuses on the ongoing mutations in heterosexual repertoires and their coercive and gendered dynamics. She has written about sexual violence, gender and representations of sexuality in the media.
