Margarida Medina Martins

President of the Board of the Association of Women Against Violence (AMCV). She is Vice-President of the general Assembly of the Portuguese Platform for Women’s Rights.

She was co-founder of AMCV – Association of Women Against Violence (1992), and represented this organization organization at the UN, WAVE, European Women’s Lobby and at the Consultative Council of the Commission for Citizenship and Equality.

She is an expert on the human rights of women and children and an activist in the defense of the rights of women, young people and children survivors of violence.

She co-founded several associations, namely the Association against Femicide, Safe Internet Platform Association, Portuguese Association for the Prevention of Abuse and Neglect of Children, Portuguese Society of Community Psychology and Portuguese Platform for Women’s Rights.

She has training in art education, mental and community health and prevention and combating violence against women.
