Holds a PhD in Management, specialization in Finance, from ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon, and a Master in Sports Management and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from New University of Lisbon.
A manager, leader, and senior technician at several public and private entities, he began his professional career at the Portuguese Cycling Federation in 1996, and later joined the Municipality of Sintra in 1998, where he held technical and leadership roles in the Sports and Tourism Divisions. Between 2002 and 2005, he was adviser of the Presidency at the Municipality of Oeiras.
In July 2012 he was appointed Director of the Regional Directorate of Lisbon and Tagus Valley of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, and in 2014 became board member at MOVIJOVEM.
He currently serves as member of the Board of Directors of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, President of the General Assembly of MOVIJOVEM, and he has been a Professor at the Autonomous University of Lisbon since 2010.
