Pierrette Pape is the chair of the frontline organization isala asbl, working on the ground to support and assist persons in prostitution in Belgium. She is the founder and coordinator of the abolitionist youth network GenerationAbolition, gathering a dozen of youth organizations from all over Europe and beyond. She currently works for the Mukwege Foundation where she leads the advocacy strategy to end rape and sexual violence in war and post-conflict times. She is also a consultant on women’s and girls’ human rights, advising on project management, campaigning, advocacy, coalition building, and strategic thinking.
Previously, she worked for more than 8 years at the European Women’s Lobby on policy and campaigns, where she coordinated several impactful projects and advocacy strategies, in particular on ending sexual exploitation and violence against women and girls, cyber violence, women and climate justice, women and armed conflict, refugee women’s rights, sexual and reproductive health and rights, men and masculinities. She led EWL advocacy on ending violence against women, through strategic campaigns and coalition building at EU level, support to EWL member organizations at national level and to the EWL Observatory on violence against women. She initiated and led the EWL campaign ‘Together for a Europe free from prostitution’, coordinating the advocacy strategy towards a historic European Parliament resolution, and animating the international NGO coalition The Brussels’ Call.
