Holds a degree in Sociology and a PhD in Sociology of the State, Law and Administration, from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra.
She is a researcher at the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra. She taught at the Miguel Torga Higher Institute, in Coimbra, and is currently assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra.
She is an expert on Gender Equality and Women’s Studies, recognised by the European Institute for Gender Equality.
She was a councillor in the Municipality of Viseu between 2013-2017 and, since October 2017, she is Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality.
