Manuel Albano

Vice-President of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality, a Portuguese government body for gender equality. He is also the National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings.

He graduated in Social Service at the Institute of Social Service in Porto (1993), and began working in the area of gender equality and women’s human rights and gender violence in 1994.

He has participated in and coordinated – and continues to do so – several national and local projects in the area of citizenship and gender equality and gender violence, including domestic violence and trafficking in human beings, both nationally and internationally.
